iciHaiti - DR : 953 Haitians deported in 4 days 19/11/2019 09:18:06
During these operations 1,170 people of Haitian origin were arrested and controlled : Valverde (246), La Vega (150), Santo Domingo, municipalities West and North (149), Jimaní (142), La Romana (117), Santiago de los Caballeros (113), Monsignor Nouel (77), Monte Plata (73), National District (59) and María Trinidad Sánchez (44). After verification using biometric readers and the central database of the DGM, 953 Haitians (81.4%) were declared in irregular migration or undocumented and returned to the border posts of Dajabón and Elías Piña to be registered and deported to Haiti. The migration teams were composed of inspectors, agents of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) with the support of the military, the Dominican National Police in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Provinces concerned.
