iciHaiti - Security : Vandalism at the Faculty of Ethnology
In a note dated October 29, the Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) informs that the premises of the Faculty of Ethnology have been the subject of acts of vandalism perpetrated at two distinct moments of Friday, October 25 by more than a dozen individuals, including some former students expelled from the UEH, Luder Providence, Jean Gardy Clervil, aka "Pakamò" and others https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19229-haiti-education-illegal-occupation-ueh-announces-first-sanctions.html

Around 1:00 pm, these individuals climbed the wall and proceeded to open the main entrance door to make enter their accomplices. They then threatened the security guards and ransacked the security booths, claiming that they were looking for firearms. They took with them working and private equipment belonging to the agents. In addition, they broke several windshields of the Toyota white Bus of the Faculty.

Later, they came back around 3:45 pm, still climbing the perimeter wall. This time, they broke the padlock of the Great Barrier and then looted the Factult's bus to push it out of the faculty precinct before burn it until it was completely consumed.

The Rectorate of the UEH strongly denounces and condemns these acts committed by these ill-intentioned individuals who constantly take advantage of the socio-political situation of the country to violently attack the premises of the University and to attack at the same time the property and the life of the members of the institution. Once again, the Rectorate invites the judicial authorities responsible for the files of the instigators mentioned above to grant them the benefit of the urgency with a view to a decision in the sense of protecting the common good.
