iciHaiti - Paris : Conciliate protection of heritage and development of the country
Bocchit Edmond, the Minister of Foreign Affairs accompanied by Charles Jean-Jacques, National Authorizing Officer of the European Development Fund, was received this week in Paris by Audray Azoulay Director-General of UNESCO in the framework of a working meeting on the problematic of the National Road #3 crossing the National Historic Park, Citadelle, Sans Souci, Ramiers (PNH-CSSR), a World Heritage site in 1982.

The Chancellor discussed the current situation of the RN3, created by presidential decree of 4 April 1979 and whose construction began in 2010 with funding from the European Union.

At the end of the exchanges, Mrs. Azoulay decided in agreement with the World Heritage Center, to send to Haiti an expert mission of the International Council of Monuments and Sites, in October, whose terms of reference will consist of to further study the environmental and heritage impacts of the existing RN3 in the Park, in order to conciliate the development imperatives of the Haitian Government and the protection of the Historical Park.
