At this meeting, participates a Haitian delegation composed of the HIV Program Project Manager Ministry of Health Haiti, Alande Saturday; Marie Carmelle Alliot Lue, Project Manager of the Tuberculosis Program; Steeve McAllan from MARP (Most At Risk People); Pavel Desrosiers, Executive Director, Communicable Disease Coordination Unit, and Jetho Guerrier, Data Manager Tuesday at a press conference it was revealed that the number of Haitian migrants living with the AIDS virus in the Dominican Republic was estimated at 15,000 and that a census was planned at the national level to determine the exact number of people from Haitian origin infected. In the Dominican Republic, about 70,000 citizens live with HIV and most of them receive anti-retroviral treatment. An estimated 340,000 people are living with the virus in the Caribbean.
