iciHaiti - Technology : Haitian National Forum on Internet Governance
As part of the "Internet Governance Forum" (IGF) Summer School, the School of Infotronics of Haiti (ESIH) is in preparation (August 26th to 30th) of the 2nd Edition of the Forum National Network on Internet Governance to be held on September 12 at Alpha Haiti on the Champ de Mars to be held around the theme "Unite against disinformation, defamation and Internet news in Haiti".

The open and global Internet is the most powerful communication and collaboration resource ever seen. It offers new opportunities for learning and solving urgent problems facing people around the world. But misinformation, defamation and infoxies pollute information and can polarize public opinion, promote violent extremism and hate speech and ultimately undermine democracies and reduce confidence in democratic processes.

This second Haitian National Forum on Internet Governance is an open platform where the problems and challenges of misinformation, defamation and Internet news will be exposed to bring lasting solutions to an inclusive and constructive debate where the private sector, the Government, civil society, the academic and technical community are committed to building a better Internet together.

A final report of this edition will be presented on behalf of Haiti at the United Nations Forum, which is held every year on a global scale.
