iciHaiti - Weather : Tropical storm Dorian has strengthened
Tropical storm Dorian strengthened on Sunday and continues on its course towards the West Atlantic, but if the strengthening continues, Dorian could become a hurricane in the Caribbean in the coming hours, says the National Hurricane Center of the United States (NHC).

In its 5 pm Sunday bulletin, the NHC reports that sustained maximum winds have increased in recent hours and are blowing at 85 km / h and that tropical storm Dorian is moving west at a speed of about 22 km / h.

On Sunday night, Dorian was about 605 kilometers east-southeast of Barbados (Lesser Antilles) and 780 kilometers east-southeast of Santa Barbara (St. Lucia).

Experts say Monday's Dorian will turn west-northwest, which would line up on Puerto Rico and the island of Hispaniola (next Thursday). Moreover experts agree for an additional strengthening by Tuesday morning in the Eastern Caribbean, which could be close to the force of hurricanes (120km / h)

The authorities of Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Martinique and Grenada issued various warnings for the passage of Storm Dorian.

However, it is also possible that after his eventual passage on Martinique, on the arc of the Antilles and Puerto Rico, Dorian weakens in strength. Although this system is still far from Haiti and does not seem to represent for the moment a direct danger, the Directorate of Civil Protection advises the Haitian population, including communities in areas at risk of flooding, to remain vigilant and follow the weather news bulletins and follow the instructions.
