Learn more about TiCorn :

The singer-songwriter TiCorn (Cornelia Schütt, 1953) is an emblematic artist of Haiti. She grew up in Cap Haïtien, where her German family has lived for six generations. From the age of 10, she learned to accompany herself on the guitar and sing the folklore of the country. The success of his first album called "Haiti" published in 1979 marks the beginning of his career. Many concerts, her presence in the media and her role as Simbi's singing goddess in the movie "Anita" (1980) have increased her popularity. In his second album "Cèvolan" (1982), TiCorn included his own compositions, while continuing his collaboration with Haitian composers such as Marcel O. Gilles and Jean Claude Martineau. Other albums followed: « La Map rété », « Ballades Caraïbes », “« Cap Haitien », « Labadee Bay », « Zanmi Nou ».

In 2009, his albums were re-edited and presented at the Festival Haiti en Folie 2010 in Montreal. This year, TiCorn returns to the Festival with the hand, the publication of a collection of songs containing a large part of its repertoire. This collection is the tenth volume of the collection "Songs of Haiti" created and coordinated by the soprano Karine Margron in collaboration with the composer Julio Racine as part of the safeguarding of Haitian musical heritage. This production, managed in Haiti by the Odette Roy Fombrun Foundation, is distributed free of charge to all music schools in Haiti.
