iciHaiti - Social : The feast of Agriculture and Labor celebrated on Saint Pierre's Square
In order to get closer to local producers and promote their products, the Ministry of Agriculture via the Departmental Directorate of Agriculture of the West(DDAO), organizes in Saint Pierre Square (Pétion-ville) a two fair days (April 30 - May 1) as part of the feastof agriculture and work around the theme "Ann kore pwodiksyon nasyonal la pou kwape lavi chè".
Craftsmen, local producers, representatives of international institutions, made the trip to exhibit and present their products to the general public during the activity devoted to agriculture. Firms working in the breeding sector were also noticed on Saint-Pierre Square during the first day.
According to Jean Elie Philogène, the Departmental Director of Agriculture of the West, "this fair is an opportunity to reflect and support the agricultural sector considered as the engine of the Haitian economy. We are here to promote products and take action to increase domestic production," convinced that through these activities, we can manage to exploit this sector and also showcase farmers.
