On Thursday, Philippe Fernandez, an engineer of Portuguese nationality, was killed by two bullets in front of the premises of Jean-Baptiste High School in Pointe du sable, Saint-Marc on RN1, where he was in charge of the construction of buldings to house the new high school.

The engineer was coming back from the bank when he had just withdrawn a large sum of money, probably to pay the wages of his workers, when he was attacked, stripped of his money, and shot dead by unidentified armed individuals riding motorcycles, who after their escape have fled.

Philippe Fernandez was rushed to the hospital where he died despite all the efforts of the doctors.
