Let's remember that Yanick Lahens is the first personality to occupy this chair created in partnership with the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), intended to illustrate the diversity and richness of Francophone worlds by giving a forum to researchers from countries with French in sharing. Created for three years, this Chair will host each year a great voice of the Francophonie from different areas of literature, arts and sciences. Learn more about Yanick Lahens : Yanick Lahens was born in Haiti. After university studies in France, she returned to live in Haiti where she taught literature at the university, hosted a cultural program on Radio Haiti Inter and published articles on Haitian literature in Haitian and foreign magazines. She is a member of the editorial board of the French-Haitian journal Conjonction. Today, she writes, accompanies and supports youth initiatives in the cultural, literary and social fields. She published an essay "Entre l’ancrage et la fuite, l’écrivain haïtien"; collections of short stories "Tante Résia et les dieux", "La petite corruption", "La folie était venue avec la pluie"; a story "Failles" and novels "Dans la maison du père", "La couleur de l’aube", "Guillaume et Nathalie", "Bain de lune" and "Douces déroutes", for which she has won numerous awards : France Television Prize for "La couleur de l’aube", the Carbet prize for "Guillaume et Nathalie" and the Femina Prize for "Bain de Lune" in 2014. Her works are translated into English, Brazilian, Catalan, Italian, Japanese, Polish and German, and translations are in progress in Norwegian and Spanish. She has received many distinctions from Haitian and international institutions and is an officer of the Arts and Letters of France. IH/ iciHaiti
