iciHaiti - Social : Dominican Migration continues its hunt for illegal Haitians 22/03/2019 10:22:13
The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) continues to conduct daily migratory control actions on the Dominican territory to regulate the illegal presence of Haitians. In this context, migratory control operations were carried out in 8 Dominican provinces : Azua, Duarte, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, La Vega, Puerto Plata, Samaná and Valverde, as well as in different sectors of the National District and the municipalities of Santo-Domingo, North, East and West during which 1,101 Haitians were controlled inform the DGM
The institution's immigration control officers participated in these operations with the support of the military personnel of the Army, Navy and Air Force of the Dominican Republic and representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office. provinces and municipalities mentioned above.
After the verification process using biometric readers 836 compatriots (76%) were declared in irregular migration situation and led to the border posts of Dajabón and Elías Piña to be registered and deported to Haiti.
