iciHaiti - DR : Expulsions continue without respite

The Directorate General of Migration (DGM) informs that by order of Lieutenant General Máximo William Muñoz Delgado, General Director of the institution, migration control operations were carried out in five provinces Hermanas Mirabal, La Vega, Monte Plata, Valverde and Puerto Plata, as well as in the National District and the municipality of Santo Domingo East, during which 1,005 Haitians were controlled.
The migratory control teams were composed of inspectors, agents of the DGM) with the support of the military, the National Police in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Provinces concerned.
After the verification process using biometric readers 729 compatriots (72%) were declared in irregular migration situation and transferred to the border posts of Dajabón and Elías Piña to be registered and deported to Haiti.
The DGM informs that it will continue to carry out operations of control of persons in irregular migration situation and other actions in all the provinces of the country, in accordance with the provisions of the law 285-04.
