The Japanese-Haitian-born Naomi Osaka, the world's number one, was forced to forfeit the Doha WTA tournament in Qatar (February 11-16) due to back pains. No details were released on the pain that had already forced Naomi forfeited the Hong Kong tournament in October 2018.
"I'm sorry to withdraw from the Doha tournament, so I was looking forward to participating this year and meeting my fans," said Osaka.
Her withdrawn of Osaka is a blow for the organizers, who said that her top seed position would return to the Romanian Simona Halep, 3rd world.
