iciHaiti - Sports : The Haitian ski team at the 45th World Championship in Sweden

The Haitian team of the Haitian Ski Federation (FHS) led by its incredible Founding President the iconic and friendly Jean Pierre Roy (from Port-au-Prince) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-2025-haiti-sports-the-haitian-rasta-piquett-selected-for-the-world-ski-championships-of-garmisch-partenkirchen.html aka "Rasta Piquet" [a nod to the "Rasta Rockets" of the Jamaican team bobsleigh], will proudly wear the colors of Haiti at the 45th World Ski Championships, which starts this Monday 4th until February 17th, 2019 for the 3rd time in Are, Sweden.
Although the Haitian team has not won any international awards so far, it has won every one of its participations (5th participation in a ski world championships since 2010), the favors of the public for its kindness, determination and the values it conveys in these sports competitions.
The FHS prepares the next generation of twenty young people to participate in various snow sports competitions. The next objective of the Federation is to put on skis, a team capable of representing Haiti to the Olympic Winter Games.
In addition, for the 6th edition of "I ski for Haiti", the Federation will meet you in France on March 30 and 31 to detect new recruits.

Born in Port-au-Prince, Jean-Pierre Roy, a 47-year-old computer scientist who runs a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) with around 10 employees in the Parisian suburbs, an amateur skier, started the bet crazy to found the Haitian Ski Federation and participate in the world championship alpine skiing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany) in February 2011 alongside the best, after qualifying in 2010 in Chamonix (Alps, France) and Val-Thorens (Savoie, France).
