Haiti - DR : Migration maintain the pressure ! 1,153 Haitians deported
The Directorate General of Migration (DGM) informs that following the work of the intelligence services associated with the complaints of the population, which allowed to locate Haitians in an irregular situation, migratory control operations were carried out, on order of the Lieutenant General Máximo William Muñoz Delgado Director General of the DGM, in 8 of the 31 Dominican provinces : Azua, La Vega, Montecristi, Espaillat, Santiago, Valverde, San Juan de la Maguana and in the national district (North and West) during which 1,431 Haitians were arrested and controlled.

The migratory control teams were composed of inspectors, Migration agents with the support of the military, the National Police in coordination with the Public Ministry of the concerned Provinces.

After the verification process using biometric readers 1,153 compatriots (80.5%) who did not hold any type of legal document, were declared in irregular migration situation and led to the border posts of Dajabón, Jimaní and Elías Piña to be registered and deported to Haiti.

The DGM reiterates that these operations will continue to continue in other provinces of the national territory in order to continue to locate Haitians and other foreigners in irregular migration situation in accordance with the provisions of Law 285-04.
