iciHaiti - Social : 5,279 Haitians turned back at the Dominican border

According to the Dominican military authorities, the members of the specialized body of land border security (CESFRONT) intercepted and turned back during the month of October 2018, 5,279 Haitians who tried to enter the Dominican territory illegally.
In addition, as part of the fight against smuggling from Haiti, CESFRONT seized in October, 409 pounds (± 185 kg) of marijuana, 11 tons of garlic, 72,319 packets of cigarettes, 62 gallons of clairin, 40 bags of sugar of 25 kg as well as 3 buses, 4 trucks, 5 jeeps, 1 van and 57 motorcycles, vehicles related to the smuggling of goods and the trafficking of illegal migrants.
Finally the CESFRONT in the border area has destroyed 13 clandestine charcoal kilns with a capacity of 359 bags.
