iciHaiti - Culture : 1st Edition of the Game Festival «An n Jwe»
The Cultural Properties Conservation Center of Quisqueya University (CCC-UniQ) and the Research and Development Group "Imaginescence" announce that the 1st Edition of the "An n Jwe" Game and Culture Festival will take place October 31 to November 3, 2018 on the UniQ campus in Turgeau.

During 4 days, the Festival will offer many activities ranging from exhibition and conservation of works of art on the theme of games to the demonstration and sale of games. The Festival will also include panel discussions on the state of research and technological innovations related to games, a game-making workshop and animation sessions and traditional and modern game practices.

"An n Jwe" want to be a reference cultural event facilitating the promotion, development, conservation and modernization of the cultural heritage associated with traditional Haitian games. It consists of :

  • Exhibit and preserve works of art associated with traditional games;
  • Create an animation space on traditional Haitian games by juxtaposing them with other forms of modern games (table games, video games, tablet games, etc...) and games from other cultures;
  • Promote research activities and practices associating games with improving the quality of education (gamification of learning);
  • Promote creativity and innovation by encouraging the development of businesses producing and marketing games and related products;
