Between 6 July and 14 July, the Dominican Armed Forces and members of the Specialized Border Security Corps (CESFRONT) arrested more than 5,000 Haitians fleeing Haiti from the border and tried to enter the neighboring Republic illegally, more than 3 times the average in normal situation.

Between Friday and Saturday, July 14, 951 Haitians (more than 5 times the average) in irregular migratory situation were intercepted on the Dominican territory in the border area by the CESFRONT and the 10th Battalion of the Dominican army, then handed to the Direction General of Migration to be deported to Haiti
