iciHaiti - Croix-des-Bouquets : Letter from Mayor Colin to the American Ambassador in Haiti
On Monday, as part of the celebration of the 242nd anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America, the Mayor of Croix-des-Bouquets Rony Colin sent a letter to the accredited US Ambassador to Haiti Michele Jeanne Sison, letter that we invite you to share some excerpts.

Excerpts from Mayor Colin's letter to US Ambassador Sison :
"Madam Ambassador,
The Municipal Council of Croix-des-Bouquets, on behalf of the Cruciennepopulation, has the honor to send you its wishes on the occasion of the 242nd anniversary of the independence of the United States of America, which conquered their liberty on July 4, 1776 following a glorious battle.
[...]
Haiti and you Mrs. Sison, share a love story because, it was in Port-au-Prince that you started your diplomatic career in 1982. You let yourself be seduced by the charm of nature, by culture and by the hospitality of the country. You have always expressed your respect and admiration for the Haitian Nation which in turn returns the elevator.

Your country, through its government and its people has always supported the Haitian people in the different moments of its history. And it is this momentum of solidarity and mutual support that has pushed the United States of America, thanks also to your leadership, to develop with the Commune of Croix-des-Bouquets a deep cooperation in various fields.

The crucienne population feel grateful for the financial and technical assistance of your country, through USAID, the American Red Cross and other partners, to the realization of so many projects in the Commune. These include the construction of the Fire and Rescue Center with funding of 800,000 US dollars, and to Canaan the construction of several public places, the implementation of a drinking water supply system, the construction of 3 Community Resource Centers and the rehabilitation of Canaan's main road over a distance of 1.5 kilometers linking National Highways 1 and 3 [...]

Madam Ambassador, the support of the Government and the American people to the Commune is invaluable. The City Council of Croix-des-Bouquets, in the name of the population crucienne, wants in this special circumstance to express to you all its gratitude [...]"
