The Union of Doctors and Rectors of the Private Universities of Haiti has awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to the Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Haiti, Mr. Pierre Simon Georges, on May 27, 2018 at the Baptist Church of Haiti. Pembroke Pines in Florida.

The ceremony was held in the presence of a gratin of personalities including among others, members of the Union of Doctors and Rectors of Private Universities of Haiti and some worthy representatives of the Haitian Diaspora across the United States.

The Minister of the Environment through the dynamics he develops over the years, is admired by a group of institutions that recognize and approve not only his career, but also the efforts he deploys in his relations with the people he meets. Aware of his high potential and his ability to collaborate and manage the Human, the Union of Doctors and Rectors of Private Universities of Haiti has awarded him this envious distinction as "Doctor Honoris Causa" in Human Sciences. This title was granted to him without reserve by the dignitaries of the Haitian intelligentsia gathered in the circumstance.

Recall that an honorary doctorate, is an honorary title awarded by a university or faculty to an eminent personality who has made his mark in a particular field. This honorary title thus allows a university to emphasize the work of a personality or his involvement in a community.
