iciHaiti - DR : The Dominican Evangelical Council calls for an end of the illegal migration of Haitians
On the eve of the commemoration of the national independence of our neighbors (February 27), the Dominican Council of Evangelical Unity (CODUE) in its pastoral letter signed by its President Fidel Lorenzo Merán, indicates that it is time to stop the uncontrolled migration of Haitians in the Dominican Republic and he recommends the application of "a transparent and fair migration policy."

The Council maintains that many voices from all sectors of society have long called to stop the migration and to plan the number of foreigners that the country needs according to its needs highlighting in its letter "It is not fair that the country has a migratory burden without rational criteria and invests significant economic resources, mainly in the health sector [...]"

Fidel Lorenzo Merán, insists that the problem be addressed firmly and responsibly, in the exercise of Dominican sovereignty and that is analyzed all aspects of the impact of the migration burden, which exceed the economic and social capacity of the country.
