iciHaiti - DR : Discovery of 2.5 tons of smuggled garlic from Haiti

An operation led by members of the specialized Land Border Security Corps (CESFRONT), in collaboration with the Department of Border Intelligence Operations (DOIF) of Dajabón and Montecristi, allowed to discover an important shipment of contraband garlic from Haiti.
During the operation, 235 bags of approximately 22 pounds each totaling 5,170 pounds (2,345 kg) smuggled into Dominican territory were found hidden among mangroves near the mouth of the river "Yaque del Norte", near of Punta Presidente in the province of Montecristi.
At the place of the seizure, no one was arrested and the goods were transported to the base of Cesfront in Dajabón for legal suites...
