The Health Directorate of the West in a provisional report informs us that during the 3 fat days of Carnival National 2018 in Port-au-Prince, 877 people including 477 women had received care. The majority of cases were related to respiratory discomfort or excess alcohol consumption, while others had stab wounds, broken bones and minor injuries.

740 cases were taken care of by the local rescue stations, 50 were put under observation and 67 people were referred to the referral hospitals provided for in the Carnival security device.

In addition, several women who were sexually assaulted during the carnival had to receive psychological counseling.
