iciHaiti - Diaspora : Launch of the Comic Strip «Fwontyè apre fwontyè» 09/02/2018 07:28:07
As part of International Development Week, the Quebec Association of International Cooperation Organizations (AQOCI) launched the comic strip "Fwontyè apre fwontyè" illustrated by Anouk Tremblay, which tells the story of people of Haitian origin who left the United States to seek refuge in Canada in the summer of 2017 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21850-haiti-canada-more-than-6-400-haitians-have-illegally-crossed-the-quebec-border.html fearing deportation by the Trump administration following the decision to terminate the designation of Temporary Protection Status (TPS) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22759-haiti-flash-tps-more-than-50-000-haitians-will-have-to-leave-the-usa.html .
This comic strip was created with the aim of creating a greater interest among readers in the human issues of migration, a phenomenon as old as humanity but today unfortunately associated with systemic injustices and human rights violations.
