Thursday at the customs of Ouanaminthe, the Office of the Authorizing Officer of the European Development Fund and the Delegation of the European Union in Haiti have proceeded to the official delivery of material and IT equipment to the General Administration of Customs (AGD).

This project is part of the Trade component of the Binational Cooperation Program between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, funded by the European Union to the tune of 712,557 Euros which includes materials, installation, after-sales service and training of executives.

In his speech Charles Jean Jacques the National Authorizing Officer for the European Union said "[...] This initiative is of great importance for the Government of Haiti because it will help the General Administration of Customs in the perception of recipes that will allow the Haitian State to strengthen its public service to better ensure the functioning of the Republic through the national budget and serve the population."
