iciHaiti - Social : Celebration of the International Migrants Day
Monday, Stéphanie Auguste, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), together with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the National Office for Migration (NOM), celebrated the International Migrants Day around the theme "Migration, a reality to be managed for the benefit of all".

In her speech, Minister Auguste hailed the contribution of migrants to the Haitian nation at the end of the 19th century, of Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, France, Italy, etc.... and underlined the positive repercussions of Haitians living in certain countries, despite the reluctance of the authorities of these countries to recognize it.

In conclusion, the Minister has borrowed the words of former Secretary General of the United Nations Koffy Annan, May 18, 2006 stated, "As long as there Nations, there will be migrants. Like it or not, the migrations will continue, because they are part of life. This is not to prevent them, but to better manage them and to ensure that all parties cooperate more and better understand the phenomenon. Migrants are not a zero-sum game, it's a game where there can only be winners."
