iciHaiti - Education : Launch of the experimentation of the curriculum for preschool education
At the beginning of the week at the Best Western Hotel, Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, Minister of National Education launched the experimentation of the curriculum for preschool education for 3 departments : North, Northeast and Center.

Remember that this curriculum for preschool education is the result of a long process of consultation and exchanges with the various MENFP partners involved in the field of early childhood.

Finnish cooperation, Chilean cooperation, Unicef and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) are among the technical and financial partners who made a great contribution to the process, said Marie Yolaine Vandal, Director of the Ministry's Office of Early Childhood Education (BUGEP).

Minister Cadet rejoiced of the implementation of this curriculum which is a first in the Haitian education system "This is an important new step for the integral development of early childhood" recalling that this initiative is part of the reform of the education sector which puts a special emphasis on early childhood "This is the essential basis for a good formation of the child's personality".

According to the Minister, this curriculum, which is in an experimental phase, will have to be adopted at the end of the process, which will require a change in appropriate teaching practices that will change the place previously reserved for early childhood. In his intervention, he stressed that in keeping with the State's commitment to education, it is urgent to lay the foundations for new pedagogical approaches while making pre-school education a priority.

At the end of the ceremony, the Minister Cadet distributed educational materials to the leaders of 6 preschool centers, present for the occasion.
