iciHaiti - Economy : A tax lottery for the payment of the rental tax !
From April 2018, a tax lottery initiated by the Government will come into effect to encourage the population to pay the "Contribution Foncière des Propriétés Bâties" (CFPB). The draws will be made from the rental tax payment slips throughout the territory.

There will be 3 national prizes, 10 departmental prizes and 5 other prizes, said Ronald Grey Décembre, the Secretary of State for Finance, noting that the top three prizes will be vehicles such as a BMW. However, he did not fail to recall that if despite all, the recalcitrant persist not to pay their CFPB, there will be coercive measures to force them to pay their debts...

He took the opportunity to recall that to develop the real estate sector and relieve the most vulnerable social strata, the new finance law in force changes the scales, and proposes instead of the old taxation of 15% :

Up to 50,000 gourdes: 6%
From 50,001 to 100,000 gourdes: 7%
From 100,001 to 150,000 gourdes: 8%
From 150,001 to 200,000 gourdes: 9%
More than 200,000 gourdes: 10%

A 60% abatement will be applied to the principal amount of the CFPB of the primary residence of the residents.

The rental tax applies to all buildings that may house persons or property, occupied or not, inhabited by its owner, in usufruct or lease is subject to the CFPB.
