It is the Haitian painter and sculptor, Philippe Dodard, with the help of local artists and craftsmen and 3 students of the Barbados Community College who realized last August in Barbados, the door of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) titled Roots of the Caribbean, the Door of Culture.

This symbolic door, located at the West Terrace was made in mosaic by Philippe Dodard on the two concrete pillars built 30 years ago, during the 1st edition of CARIFESTA.

These two pillars Marassa symbolize the guardians of this plural culture that is the wealth of the people of the Caribbean.
