31% of the population is aged 10 to 24, 33% is 0 to 14, 62% is 15 to 64, and 5% is 65 or older. At the maternal and neonatal health level, the maternal mortality ratio (deaths per 100,000 live births) in 2015 was 359, births attended by skilled health personnel was 49% (2006-2016); the birth rate of adolescent girls per 1,000 women aged 15 to 19 is 66% (2006-2015). With regard to family planning in 2017, the contraceptive prevalence rate, for women aged 15 to 49, all methods combined is 41% and 37% for modern methods for the same age group. 31% of family planning needs for women aged 15-49 are not satisfied compared to 57% of satisfied women for the same age group. 51% is the proportion of satisfied demand in modern methods for women aged 15 to 49 years. The average total fertility rate per Haitian woman in 2017 is 2.9 children. In terms of life expectancy for men it is 61 years old and for women 66 years old. HL/ HaitiLibre
