iciHaiti - Security : Maritime measures for the hurricane season
Dieudonné Bruno, the new Director General of the Maritime and Navigation Service of Haiti (SEMANAH), informs us that since 1 June, the start of the hurricane season, a Monitoring Committee has been set up.

This Committee is composed of the Directorate of Maritime Safety (DSM), of the Directorate of Planning and Procurement (DMPP), the Coordination of Territorial Representations (CTR) and the Maritime Data Observation and Operations Center (CODOMAR) with special responsibility for tsunami monitoring.

In addition to disseminating awareness-raising spots for seafarers, users and the coastal population around the active season, the Committee is also responsible for providing safety advice to the entire population. Dieudonné Bruno recalling that sailors must always be informed of the marine weather before going to sea and all users of the sea must wear a lifejacket.

He also announced that 5 boats were moored in Port-au-Prince, Port de Paix, Marigot and Belle-Anse, Côte des Arcadins and to the Haitian Navy, ready to patrol at sea and to help people in distress.

According to what entrusted us the Director Bruno, of material will be distributed in the great south, especially life jackets.
