iciHaiti - Health : The Hospital of Bon Repos named «Dr. Zilda Arns Hospital»
Friday in the presence of Marie-Greta Roy Clement, the Minister of Public Health, Brazil's Minister of Health Ricardo Barros and Brazil's Social Development Minister Osmar Terra, the Community Hospital of Reference (CHR) of Bon Repos during a ceremony was named in honor of Dr. Zilda Arns, Brazilian pediatrician, founder of the Pastoral of the Child, who died in Haiti during the earthquake of January 2010.

The construction of CHR Dr. Zilda Arns was finalized in 2015, thanks to financial contributions from the Brazilian Government to the Brazil-Cuba-Haiti tripartite cooperation project in the field of health, launched in 2010. Brazilian resources invested in this project so far are about 70 million dollars (the largest project of South-South cooperation of Brazil in the world).

mplemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS); the project allowed, among other things, the construction and maintenance of three community reference hospitals (in Beudet, Bon Repos and Carrefour); of the Haitian Institute of Rehabilitation (IHR); the raining of 1,200 community health workers; as well as the construction of vaccine depots and other health inputs at Fort Liberté, Jérémie and Port-de-Paix. Together, the CHRs provide care to approximately 600 people per day and have new and modern facilities with emergency reception services.
