iciHaiti - Social : PM expressed his deep gratitude to the Minustah
On Wednesday, on the occasion of the International Day of Peacekeepers, Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant saluted the memory of the 3,500 UN peacekeepers who gave their lives for the cause of peace throughout the world.

He took the opportunity to observe a minute of silence in memory of the two hundred staff members of the Minustah who died in the earthquake of January 12, 2010.

On behalf of the President of the Republic, Jovenel Moïse, the Head of Government expressed his deep gratitude to Minustah for its undeniable contribution over the past 13 years to the stabilization efforts of the country.

Prime Minister Lafontant welcomed the work of Mrs. Sandra Honoré, the UN Secretary-General's special representative at the head of the Minustah, as well as the good-offices actions she has put in place to help to the strengthening of political stability, the establishment of the rule of law and the strengthening of our republican institutions.
