iciHaiti - Diaspora : 4th Biennial Haiti Film Fest
As part of Haiti's heritage month, Haiti Cultural Exchange, a New York-based non-profit organization, announces that the 4th Biennial Haiti Film Fest (11-14 May) will begin with a fundraiser on Thursday 11 at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (445 Albee Square West, Brooklyn, NY).

The Festival will present films on the social and cultural life of Haiti. It will also have a special evening of short films, including the screening of a number of graduate films from the Jacmel Ciné Institue.

The opening night of the Festival will be a fundraising event that will highlight selected projects that focus on the work of the creative forces that have contributed significantly to Haitian cinema and culture. People honored : Arnold Antonin, a Haitian filmmaker and producer known for his social, political and cultural commitment to Haiti; the Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean Louis of Haitian origin, interpreter of Toussaint Louverture and an impressive CV of international actor and the American-Haitian film-maker Rachelle Salnave whose important filmography cover various relevant subjects on the Haitian communities in the United States and Haiti.
