According to a report for the year 2016 of the General Inspectorate of the National Police of Haiti (IGPNH), 75% of the police officers have undergone morality investigations, out them 3/4 in the region of Port-au-Prince. These investigations were conducted by the unit of vetting (certification) 1,143 police officers have been certified and 58 not recommended.

908 investigation files were opened following infringement complaints. Proposals for administrative sanctions were made : 275 police officers were suspended, 95 were placed on availability and 31 police officers were dismissed.

The lack of financial resources and human resources, among other things, the Vetting unit has not been able to achieve all its objectives, so several missions have been postponed and of audits of Central Directorates and Deconcentrated Services could not be completed.
