iciHaiti - Suriname : Haiti's success at the 53rd edition of the AVD parade 26/04/2017 09:42:01 The AVD (Avond Vier Daagse) parade began in 1964 and is considered to be the largest annual cultural event in Suriname, where all ethnic groups in the Surinamese population celebrate, in their own way, the health and cultural diversity of this country for 4 days. The theme this year was "there is no vital economy without healthy people". Consul Alex Jospitre and all the staff of the Consular Mission "are pleased to see the growing pride of our young compatriots in Suriname more than determined, to keep at this parade, this unique Caribbean touch of which only Haitians have the secret."
