"We thank all the people who have traveled in mass to come to celebrate without violence with the population of Les Cayes [...]

Thanks to the police, the Ministry of Public Works, the private sector, Civil Protection, the Presidency, the Carnival Committee and, above all, a big thank to all the young people who put themselves at the disposal of the commune and the Caranaval to make this activity a success.

Finally, I would ask all State authorities to apply the same determination that made this National Carnival a success for the development of the country.

We've finished dancing, now it's time to start building," declared Jean Gabriel Fortuné, the Mayor of the city of Les Cayes.
