The fact that the Carnaval National (in Les Cayes) and the one in Port-au-Prince took place on the same dates (26, 27 and 28 February) imposes a choice to the musical groups and necessarily the number will be reduced by Carnaval.

The Committee recognizes that there will be fewer allegorical floats, musical formations or walking bands on the route. However, far from recognizing the effect of competition from the Carnaval National of Les Cayes, the Committee prefers to state that this is a choice in order to favor the artistic aspect of the carnival, specifying that there will be 7 musical formation at the maximum, four or five allegorical floats and eleven fwalking bands...
