iciHaiti - Security : 8 Departments threatened by earthquakes

Friday, as part of a day of awareness on the theme "Natural disasters in Haiti. 7 years later", geologist Claude Prépetit, Director General of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME), recalled that 8 departments in Haiti were under threat of an earthquake due to several faults across Haiti (Grande Anse, Nippes, South, Southeast, West, North, North-East and North-West.
Prépetit insisted on the authority and firmness of the municipalities in the granting of building permits, while questioning the existence of penalties and their applications in the event of non-compliance with the anti seismic standards laid down in the 2010 Earthquake Construction Guide, of the Government.
