Haiti - Economy : 25 young people trained in cell phone repair
Thursday, December 29, at the Hotel Mimosa in Torbeck (South), the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL) closed a training workshop in cell phone repair, after that held in Tabarre mid December https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19536-haiti-news-zapping-politics.html

During a ceremony, more than 25 young people received each from Jean Marie Altéma, General Director of the Council and Guy Astrel Joseph, Head of the Cabinet of the Mayor of the City of Les Cayes, a certificate of participation and a repair tool kit.

In his speech Joseph highlighted the impact of this training at the regional level. The representative of the mayor wished to organize new sessions for a wider participation of the youth of the department.

By closing the ceremony, Jean Marie Altéma urged the participants to cultivate a sense of sharing by putting their newly acquired knowledge to the benefit of their fellowmen, reminding participants that there are great opportunities that await them, that more than 6.5 million Haitians owned a mobile phone, including 1.2 million a smartphone, inviting them to come together to create their own business.

These training workshops, an initiative of CONATEL, which have existed for several years in Haiti, prove to be a real success with participants has entrusted Jocelyn Revenge, one of the trainers.
