iciHaiti - Humanitaire : L'internationale peu empressée à financer l'aide en Haïti
John Ging, the Director of the Operational Division of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) at a recent press conference in New York, regretted that the $120 million humanitarian appeal for Haiti, launched on 20 October in Geneva (Switzerland) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18997-haiti-politic-call-for-emergency-funds-the-international-community-timid.html has so far only been financed to 40%.

"This funding is not consistent with what we usually receive in the case of natural disasters [60% and +] [...] This has a negative impact on our ability to respond [...] This means a lot of unnecessary suffering. These people in Haiti have nothing left. They need everything in terms of helping to rebuild their lives while their country is already suffering from extreme poverty and other challenges."
