The Office of Human Rights in Haiti (BDHH) announces the launch of the 2nd 2016/2017 edition of the Human Rights Pleading competition.

Students graduating in law, have until December 8, 2016 to send a 3-page text on the topic "Prolonged pre-trial detention in the Haitian justice system".

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the oratorical games to be held during the month of January 2017.

The BDHH invites you to watch the report from Channel 4: "The prison from Hell", which highlights the deplorable living conditions in the national penitentiary and addresses the work done by the BDHH in the fight against prolonged pre-trial detention. It can be viewed free of charge for a month on the site of Channel 4 (Unreported world) after a simple registration.
