iciHaiti - Politic : Tour of Privert in the Nippes department
Friday, as part of the assessment of damage caused by Hurricane Matthew and the crisis management, the de facto President, Jocelerme Privert toured in the department of Nippes, from where he comes, after visiting several other departments affected by the hurricane.

The visit began with a meeting at the Departmental Centre of Emergency Operations (COUD) to Miragoâne where he gave an update on the various initiatives already taken by the government in the management of the crisis. He took the opportunity to thank the regional authorities that have done everything to avoid the worst.

Thereafter Privert visited the main communes of the department. In Petite-Rivière de Nippes, the President found that the hurricane had found that the hurricane had leveled everything in its path. The majority of homes are destroyed or badly damaged, the plantation disappeared and the roads are heavily damaged. Same observation in almost all other communes of the department like Anse-à-veau, Petit-Trou de Nippes or Barradères.

Privert returned to the capital the same day, in early evening.
