iciHaiti - Politic : Fight against transnational crime
The de facto President Jocelerme Privert, accompanied by Camille Edouard, Minister of Justice and Public Security, recently held a working meeting at the National Palace, with Haitian institutions concerned around the implementation and monitoring of recommendations produced by the evaluators of the Financial Action Task Force of the Caribbean (CFATF) on the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing

At this meeting to which participated among others, the Central Financial Intelligence Unit (UCREF), the National Commission for the Fight against Drugs (CONALD), the Brigade for the Fight Against Drug Trafficking (BLTS), and the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), the authorities have decided on the many tasks to accomplish during the month of July as part of the recommendations, including the publication in the official newspaper "Le Moniteur" of application decrees related to the money laundering Act, the transmission to Parliament of some draft laws (Penal Code, UCREF) and the Payment of arrears of contributions.

The Head of State wished to insist on the implementation of concrete and rapid actions of the institutions concerned, to allow Haiti by November 2016, to strengthen its status among the countries actively fighting against transnational crime.
