Haiti - Politic : 205th anniversary of the independence of Venezuela
The Venezuelan Embassy in Haiti celebrated, this week the 205th anniversary of the independence of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. A wreath was laid at the feet of the statue of Alexandre Pétion at Champ de mars, a way for this country to the contribution of Pétion in their release.

According to the Ambassador of Venezuela Luis Ernesto Diaz Curbelo, "freedom originated from Haiti thanks to the support provided by Alexandre Pétion to Simon Bolivar for the freedom of nations. A support that Venezuela is not ready to forget."

For his part, Marc-Aurel Garcia, the Minister of Culture praised the friendship between the two countries, he said, does not date from yesterday "Today is an opportunity for us to renew Venezuela this active friendship, since Pétion and Bolivar [...] It is an honor for us to be here to say happy anniversary to the Venezuelan people on behalf of President of the Republic. Venezuela and Haiti never gave us, we will not let you either."

Also this week, Frantz Liautaud, Ambassador of Haiti to Canada, to the Simon Bolivar bust at the Embassy of Venezuela in Canada received a military decoration single grade "Orden al Merito del Ejectito" from the Venezuelan Ambassador to Canada, Wilner Omar Barrientos Fernandez.
