iciHaiti - Religion : International Symposium «Protestantism in Haiti and its Diaspora»

This Thursday at the National Library of Haiti, on the sidelines of the activities of the bicentenary of the presence of Protestantism in Haiti the "Laboratoire LAngages DIscours REprésentations" (LADIREP) of the State University of Haiti organizes (16 and 17 June), the international conference "Protestantism in Haiti and its diaspora".
This first scientific event on Protestant religious movements that lead the State University of Haiti, aims to examine the relationship that these movements have with each other, and their impact on Haitian society.
Organised in panels and roundtables, the conference brings together scientists from Haiti, France and the United States.
- Panel I : Understanding the rise of Protestantism in Europe and America (XVIe- nineteenth centuries) ;
- Panel II : Protestantism and culture in Haiti ;
- Panel III: Protestantism in the Haitian diaspora ;
- Panel IV : New Protestantism growth strategies in Haiti ;
- Panel V : Protestantism in precarious neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince ;
- Round table on the translation of the Bible in Creole.
