Thursday, during a press briefing-balance on the security situation in Haiti, the Commissioner Frantz Lerebours, spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) revealed that 419 people had been assassinated during the period from January to May 2016.

According to figures provided by the Spokesman. "In January, 83 people lost their lives (74 shot down) ; in February, 81 (69 shot down); March, 107 (96 shot down) in April, 80 (55 shot down) and on May, 68 (55 shot down)"

The PNH also indicated that 33 kidnapping cases had been reported in the last five months: January (4) February (14) March (10) April (3) and May (2).
