Haiti - Health : Strike, AMHE deplores the lack of emergency cell

In a note, the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad (AMHE), which closely follows the strike of resident-physicians in Haiti, that paralyzes since late March the Hospital of the State University of Haiti (HUEH) and affects other public health institutions of province "[...] deplores the fact that no emergency cell has been established to provide minimal care to the most vulnerable members of our society, that exclusively depend on these institutions for their health needs. Further, AMHE said understand "the merits of the claims and grievances expressed by residents and arising from their frustrations and the state of destitution in which they evolve for a long time." However, the Association "think the situation has lasted too long and it is time for the protagonists to put an end to the dialogue of the deaf that seems to characterize the negotiations. It asks them to look with serenity lasting and specific solutions to recurring problems to which the residents and the country's health institutions face forever."
