Despite the promises of the new Police Commissioner of Petit-Goâve, to restore order, peace and security in the commune and approach the Deputy of Petit-Goâve, Germain Fils Alexandre with the central authorities, after an ephemeral improvement, the bandits have resumed attacks on vehicles at Nationale #2.
"Almost every evening, between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm bandits armed of machetes and axes, which are hiding in the mountains after their acts, come attack trucks that provide transportation and other cars that are heading to the South," testified Thursday evening on Radio Preference FM, a driver, victim of the violence adding "[...] They beat us before to strip us of our money. They exert on us heavy pressure [...] Tapion and Chabanne represent two high-risk areas," calling on the police to Petit-Goâve, for it secures the National Road #2 at dusk.
