iciHaiti - Health : Vaccination campaign against rubella, measles and polio
The Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) through the Directorate of Expanded Programme of Vaccination against measles rubella and polio, recalls that the first phase of a vaccination campaign is underway in Artibonite and West from 12 to 24 March 2016. The objective is to contribute to the maintenance of the country free of these three diseases and to reduce vitamin A deficiency.

The second phase of the immunization campaign is scheduled for early April and will cover the 8 other departments.

As part of this first phase, estimated at over one million, the MSPP has benefited from the financial support of partners, including PAHO / WHO, UNICEF, of Haitian and American Red Cross and of CDC. Over 1.5 million children will be affected by this campaign which involves more than 8,000 operators, vaccinators and supervisors.

Parents and responsible for children aged zero to five are invited to go to health centers or gatherings stations for free vaccination and administration of vitamin A. Two combined vaccines against measles and rubella; a vaccine against polarimetry and Vitamin A will be administered to each child.
